Preparations for the driveway 22/09/15. Contractor arrived 3 days early, now that doesn't happen very often. Notified Gambier Earth Movers, ready for hotmix. Still no movement on installation of my wall charger or the cars' arrival ...

I am guessing my Model S is on the ANL BARWON which left Los Angeles yesterday 21/08 our time. I hope my Tesla contact will let me know Monday if my car is on its way. In the meantime, here is a graphic depiction as it travels to Melbourne, Australia. Of course I could easily have the wrong ship, so I will have to redo this when I know. :)
(Right mouse-click and select 'zoom-in' for a closer look if you like.) UPDATE: Well it wasn't the ANL BARWON, so now either the CAP CORRIENTES or the CAP PASADO. Just got word from my DES (Delivery Experience Specialist) that my Model S is on board a ship bound for Melbourne, due around the end of September.
My Tesla Wall Connector arrived today and I've booked in a sparky to install it.
A crappy video clip of the un-boxing of the HPWC. Logging on to the portal this morning I found that production is complete and the next part of its journey begins ... Now to see if I can track the ship. A possible of the 11 ships that transport from California to Australia and is currently anchored in San Francisco is the ANL BARWON. I shall track this to see when it arrives in Long Beach. If this isn't the one, then the next possibility is the CAP PASADO.
I'm fascinated by the construction of the Model S. Its probably not much different to other car manufacturing plants, but this was the plant I was drawn to because it produces the car I was most interested in. It fits my view of where we should be headed.
So if you are interested, here are some short clips on the building of this Electric car. Had a good experience (so far) in selling my Holden Volt on Carsales.com.au
8 interested buyers for the week and did a deal on the 12th August. Of course a deal's not done until the money is in the bank :) Hopefully next Tuesday ... The launch of the dual motor Tesla Model S was held on Tuesday 11th August, Alan & Frank joined me as we traveled to Avalon Airport where the function was held.
We stopped off at the Hobby shop in Geelong before arriving just before the scheduled start of 6PM. There were over 100 attendees and we all participated in the rides that had been arranged. There were 3 different events demonstrating slalom, auto pilot stopping and 'Insane' mode in the P85D - 0-100km/hr in 3.3sec, it was INSANE. The instant torque of the electric motor was something else believe me. 'Ludicrous' mode is a further upgrade that gets you to 0-100 in 3 seconds flat at greater than 1.1g!! |
